For the City College of San Francisco Choir’s Spring Concert, I designed a poster featuring a bouquet of soft watercolor flowers to symbolize love and spring. I added black ink details for contrast and chose a fun, curvy typeface to complement the floral design. My goal was to create a lively, unified look that draws attention and builds excitement for the event.

Sketches

I began brainstorming ideas that captured the essence of spring and springtime activities. I focused on concepts that could symbolize love, growth, and the fresh energy of the season to create a strong visual connection with the theme of the concert.

Iterations

I increased the saturation levels in the flowers to make them more vibrant and included necessary text elements like 'free admission.' I also experimented with the text colors to give the design a more delicate feel and refined the type hierarchy to improve clarity and visual flow.

Final

I really enjoyed illustrating the flowers for this project, as it was my first time working with this style. It gave me the freedom to be messy yet intentional, which made the process fun and rewarding. I’m pleased with how the design came together to capture the lively energy of the concert and the essence of spring.
